WE ARE MYTH is a modern retelling of ancient Greek myths as applied to issues facing a group of teens on one last camping trip the night before graduation.

 

Phaeton steals Fireball from his mother's liquor cabinet (myth - Prometheus), and Persephone has a new dead-beat boyfriend (myth - Persephone).

Leo Hurley has gained recognition with awards, commissions and performances in musical theatre, opera, film, dance,acrobatic, choral and instrumental mediums spanning the United States and 5 European countries. Mr. Hurley has had the pleasure of writing for Maya Angelou's 80th Birthday Celebration, Grammy Award winner Pharoah Sanders, The York Theatre, Juventas New Music Ensemble, Beyond Words Dance Company and Sonnet Repertory Theater Company with performances Off-Broadway, as well as Alonzo King's LINES Ballet at the La Biennale Festival in Venice, Italy. His musicals have been a participant at Theatre Festival, New York Musical Festival, and Abingdon Theatre. The Body Politic, which follows a Trans refugee from Afghanistan as he navigates his new life in North Carolina, reached international headlines when Hurley and collaboratorCharles Osborne brought a concert version of the work to the NC State Assembly in protest of the newly passed HB2 (“The Bathroom Bill”).
